Ingredients:

- Seer/King/Surmai Fish - 500 gms
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves- 12-15 nos.
- Green chillies, chopped into big pieces- 2 nos.
- Ginger garlic paste- 2 tsp

For the paste:
- Onion- 2 medium
- Coconut pieces- 4 tbsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
- Red Chilli powder- 2 tsp
- Cumin seeds- 1 tsp

For marination:
- Salt- 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
- Chilli powder- 1 tsp

Oil- 4 tbsp
Salt- 1/2 tsp

Preparation:

- Marinate the fish pieces with salt, turmeric powder & red chilli powder. Set aside for 30 mins.
- Make a smooth paste of the items indicated by adding some water.

Process:

- Take a kadhai and heat oil.
- Add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
- Now add curry leaves & green chillies & give them a stir.
- Add the ginger garlic paste & fry for 2 mins till the raw smell is gone.
- Pour the paste made earlier & mix it well. Fry for 2 mins and add salt. Mix well.
- Continue to fry on medium heat for around 5 mins till oil separates.
- Now add 2 cups of water and mix it well. Let it come to a boil.
- Add in the marinated fish pieces side by side & gently give it a stir to cover the fish pieces with the gravy.
- Cover and cook on low flame for around 20 mins till the fish is cooked and oil separates.
- Serve hot with rice.
